Commander: Don’t let personalities divide our efforts
Our great American Legion Family is made up of many different types of people with many different personalities. We don’t always agree. We don’t always get along. We do have to do our best to get along for the greater good though. We have too much work to do, and a lot of veterans and families are counting on us to get things done.
What does Fund 85 do?
Your charity makes a difference. Here, the Legionnaire provides our readers with Fund 85 money disbursed Jan.-July. The funds don’t go to the veteran, but, rather, to the need, such as a landlord or utility.

Why a dues increase is necessary
On July 1, the national dues per capita — which means the share of dues going to National HQ — will increase to $23.50. The Department of Minnesota finance committee is recommending a $3 increase to department per capita, which will equal $16.50, and 25 cents will continue go to the Hospital Association at department levels.

Gov. Walz appoints Brad Lindsay to be commissioner of veterans affairs
ST. PAUL — Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz today announced the appointment of Brad Lindsay to serve as commissioner of Veterans Affairs. Lindsay has been serving as temporary commissioner since September.
