NECman: It’s the time of year to reach out to lawmakers, tell them about veterans
Happy New Year. I hope everyone had a very enjoyable Christmas. Many posts put on a meal or an event for their members.

1st District commander’s January 2024 report
According to the latest membership reports, we should be proud of our efforts. I realize that it is tough getting memberships, but I know that everyone is working hard on coming up with creative ways to bring in new members and get current members involved.

If you have not heard, the 6th District has challenged the 2nd District to a membership competition.
3rd District commander’s January 2024 report
As for myself, it is hard not to overindulge due to the appreciation of free meals offered that are abundant to veterans, especially in the larger cities. Post 99 hosts Minneapolis-Richfield Post 435’s Omelet Breakfast on the second Sunday and Post 99 Pancake Breakfast on the fourth Sunday. Remember to support your local posts!

Membership is also on the mind. Most posts in the 6th District are doing well, as of last check, and some only need one or two members to make goal. Get out there and talk to these people.
7th District commander’s January 2024 report
To all in the 7th District and all of the other districts around this great state of Minnesota, I hope you had a happy holiday season.
8th District commander’s January 2024 report
Remember that national dues have increased for 2025 by $5, and Department of Minnesota will be voting on a dues increase of $3 so get with your members and make sure your dues cover those increases.
9th District commander’s January 2024 report
Congratulations to our Nielsville Post 336, Strandquist Post 466 and Gully Post 603 for reaching or exceeding 100 percent goal. Great job!
10th District commander’s January 2024 report
It seems every Legion post I’ve attended since becoming commander has been filled with great people and engaging events. Beanbag tosses, meat raffles, bingo, bands and karaoke. There’s always something going on at the Legion!
