Department Commander’s Project is at 78 percent
With the Minnesota Veterans Assistance Fund, all proceeds go toward the cause. Nothing is spent on administration or overhead. It is a fund that helps veterans after they have exhausted all other resources and avenues of aid.

Socrates, the great founder of Western philosophy, served as a hoplite in the Athenian army in the Peloponnesian War — at the siege of Potidaea in 432 BC, assault on Delium in 424 BC and the defense of Amphipolis BC in 422 BC. Hoplites were foot soldiers armed with spears and shields, commonly fighting in close formation. They were the infantry.

Thrift store in Hibbing donates $10,000 to Silver Bay Veterans Home
HIBBING — The Silver Bay Veterans Home was delighted to accept a generous $10,000 donation from the Veterans Community Thrift Store in Hibbing. This donation will be used to purchase a van to help transport residents to events and other social and leisure activities in the community.
Bridge to Minneapolis Veterans Home reopens
MINNEAPOLIS — The historic truss bridge spanning Minnehaha Creek from Minnehaha Park to the Minneapolis Veterans Home reopened on Tuesday, Feb. 27.
