NECman: Winter brings district conferences, trip to D.C.
Donna and I hope you all had a very good Thanksgiving. Everyone has so much to be thankful for, some may take a little looking around for, but I promise it is there.
7th District Commander’s December 2024 Report
In October I attended a fun shoot for American Legion Junior Shooting program where I took first place, by 1 point. I then attended the Department Fall Conference in St. Cloud where I was able to meet with several members from the 7th District and of course other districts.
Sweetheart Rally coming up Feb. 8
ROYALTON — The Sweetheart Rally takes place Saturday, Feb. 8, at Royalton Post 137. This one starts at 11 a.m., with a noon meal and a program to follow.
Legislative Social slated for Jan. 8
ST. PAUL — The Department Legislative Committee hosts its Legislative Social at Mancini’s Char House in St. Paul from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. Jan. 8.

SLAYTON — Brad Pagel, 55, grew up on a dairy farm in rural Garvin, milking cows twice daily. His father served in the Army, and during Pagel’s sophomore year of high school, he became interested in following in his father’s footsteps.

For the past three years I have had the privilege of being a “tator” (i.e.: facilitator) at the National American Legion College in Indianapolis. It is a weeklong lift-me-up.

WASHINGTON — The American Legion is applauding the House passage of the Elizabeth Dole 21st Century Veterans Act, which will improve the quality of health care for our nation's veterans.
