Chaplain: Should old acquaintance be forgot?
The Scottish song “Auld Lang Syne” might very well still be sung at gatherings on Dec. 31. It invites us to bid farewell which didn’t serve to usher in better in the coming year. Do you observe this social holiday: at home, with friends and family or out watching a ball drop from a tower or fireworks? For me, it is at home with quietness.
Commander: On Top Gun, Legislature and Testimonial
Happy 2025 everyone. My 2024 ended on a great note. On Christmas eve, I drove to our post to meet a young Naval Officer, Briana Polhocky, from Zimmerman. Not only is she a F18 pilot, she is also the first female Top Gun instructor. Very impressive!

Sweetheart Rally coming up Feb. 8
ROYALTON — The Sweetheart Rally takes place Saturday, Feb. 8, at Royalton Post 137. This one starts at 11 a.m., with a noon meal and a program to follow.

The American Legion Department of Minnesota had the great honor on Saturday, Jan. 25, of witnessing one of our own members confirmed as U.S. Secretary of Defense.
Commander’s Project is at 49 percent
His project raises money for the the Veterans Defense Project, a nonprofit that defends veterans and aims to expand veterans courts across the state and nation.
