BLOOMINGTON — The Appreciation Rally is March 14 at Bloomington’s Veterans Club, a post home Post 550 shares with VFW Post 1296. It is at 311 W. 84th St., behind the Lyndale Avenue Cub Foods. Look for the Huey helicopter out front.

RED WING — Army veteran Dan Bryant was homeless and living down by the Mississippi River in Red Wing. Today, he owns a house where he and his son reside, and he is a member of American Legion Post 54.

DULUTH — Charitable gambling in Minnesota donated more than $139 million to charitable causes and their own nonprofit missions in the fiscal year that ended June 30, 2025, an 8.9 percent increase from the prior year.
