REDWOOD FALLS — Veterans, servicemembers, their supporters, along with state and federal officials, gathered on a hot summer Saturday afternoon in what had once been a cornfield to dedicate the Redwood Falls State Veterans Cemetery.

Anthrax shot resolution passed at department convention
A resolution approved at the 104th Department of Minnesota Convention in mid-July directs the VA to investigate the findings and effects of the experimental anthrax vaccination that was given to deploying Persian Gulf War veterans.
Department Convention next year to be hosted by Willmar
Jim Mertens, chairman of the Convention Corp., said Willmar was approved for the site of the 105th Department Convention. He said committee members are in negotiation for a five-year deal much like the one St. Cloud has for the Fall Conference. Multi-year contracts result in better rates.
