For the past three years I have had the privilege of being a “tator” (i.e.: facilitator) at the National American Legion College in Indianapolis. It is a weeklong lift-me-up.

Unusual as I often do not answer calls from private or unknown people. I wait to see if they leave me a message. This time I answered the phone — and I’m so glad I did!
1st District Commander’s November 2024 Report
As I am sitting here thinking about what to say in my November article, all that comes to mind is that the holidays are coming, and we have some members who are not with family. We should help each and every one in the 1st District feel like they are with family, for that is what made us who we are — our military family, then our veteran family.
3rd District Commander’s November 2024 Report
The summer is over, and the membership races are hot and heavy. The 2nd District was in first place at the Fall Conference, and the 3rd District was in fifth place. However, it is early and we have a few months to go. The percentages are very close. We hope to catch up.

As I write this, it looks like we are finally turning the page heading into fall. The leaves have turned and cleanup has begun. It seems like every time we get the leaves picked up, we get another windy day, and they all come back.
