Who has the best ribs?

ELK RIVER — Legion Social’s Jennifer Cole is heading up the second annual MN American Legions Rib Cook-Off.

It is Saturday, Oct. 4, at Elk River Post 112, 525 Railroad Drive. Posts, units, squadrons or chapters are encouraged to form teams and enter for $150 (which covers the cost of ribs). Teams receive 10 racks of St. Louis-style ribs and turn in five bones for judging.

Set up is at 7 a.m., cooking is from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

This event is not a fundraiser. It is being held in the spirit of friendly competition.

There will be cash prizes for first, second and third place.
