At the American Legion Prospect Series at University of Northwestern in Roseville and at Bethel University in Arden Hills, 150 boys representing 80 American Legion posts competed Aug. 9-11 before college scouts, parents and fans. Throwing out the first pitch was Twins legend Rod Carew, above, and Vietnam War hero Vic Lewis of Minnetonka, top, was part of the opening ceremony. Lewis was wounded twice in battle and received the Purple Heart and Bronze Star.
