Speak to local service clubs about Boys State

Zander Carbonneau, one of Minnesota’s Boys Nation Senators, spoke to Luverne’s Rotary Club of his experience in Washington, D.C., in July.  He highlighted the sites visited and the political experiences he enjoyed during the eight days on the East Coast. I believe if more Boys State alumni shared their experiences with civic organizations in their communities, a greater interest to encourage friends to partake will occur.

Families, posts and schools work together to recruit Boys State participants. Community members can enhance that effort, and knowledge of the program is necessary to make that happen.

School assemblies aren’t far away.  Take advantage of opportunities to have your sponsored young men share their excitement for how Boys State has improved their lives thus far.  If your local newspaper hasn’t featured your participant, plant the idea in the ear of a reporter or editor.

Thank you for supporting Minnesota American Legion Boys State!
