Siats supported for department vice commander

Dahlgren-Ettestad Post 499 of Northome has endorsed Daniel Siats for department vice commander for the 8th and 10th districts.

Siats is a 50-year member of the American Legion and PUFL . He served in the Army 101st Airborne Division from May 1972 to May 1975 at Fort Campbell, Ky., and was an infantry squad leader.

In his post, he has been communications director, vice commander and for the past four years commander.

In the 8th District, he has served as interim commander and vice commander for the Border Area. He is also a graduate of the Minnesota American Legion College.

He and his wife, Ann, have been married for 50 years and live near Northome, which is the furthest west post in district.

Ann is the 8th District Auxiliary Americanism chairman and works closely with the local school district for Americanism!
