Service to the community never ends

As the new year begins, our community service efforts continue right alongside it. The needs of veterans, families and our communities don’t pause with the season, and the steady work being done by our members continues to make a real difference.

Winter remains a time of increased need. Ongoing projects include supporting local food shelves, reaching out to veterans and seniors, collecting winter clothing items and helping where extra support is needed. Members are encouraged to stay involved in ways that fit their schedules — every effort counts.

American Legion Family Day is planned at the individual post and unit level, and early planning helps make these events successful. Posts and units are encouraged to begin discussions, coordinate with all branches of the American Legion Family and consider activities that bring families together while highlighting service.

Community Service is at the heart of the Auxiliary’s mission. Small acts of kindness add up quickly, and when we work together, the impact reaches far beyond what we see. Thank you for continuing to serve and support your communities in meaningful ways.
