SAL Commander: Thank you for your support for 2 terms

Greetings Minnesota American Legion Family. Spring has sprung, yippee!
And that means that we are moving through district conventions and electing new leadership teams at all levels of our family. I wish you all the best as you move forward with your endeavors to take our family to new heights.
The Detachment of Minnesota will be having its convention in Morris on June 27 and 28. That will be the end of my second term as commander. As I come to the end of this wonderful time in my life I am wanting to say, “thank you” to all of you for your support, mentorship and kindness to help and support me in my attempt to be the best commander that I am capable of being.
This has also been a time of profound sadness for me. I would not have been in this position without the loving guidance of my love, my lady, confidant, partner in crime and travels, Dee Dee Buckley. Her guidance and example of service are the principles that I have tried to embody as I have served as detachment commander. I will always miss her. I know that a lot of you will also miss her, so I don’t feel quite so alone.
In closing, I’d like to reiterate my thanks to you all for all the great things that you do for our veterans and their families. Be well. Be safe in your travels. Good luck to you all in your future endeavors.
And please look out for motorcycles!
Yours in Service.
