Registration is open for the Department of Minnesota Convention

The Department Convention is never short on friendly faces, especially ones from Elysian.

WILLMAR — The 105th American Legion Department of Minnesota Convention is July 11-13 at the Willmar Conference Center, with some standing committees meeting on July 10. Willmar Post 167 is hosting.

The official registration form is found on this page. The registration fee is $15. To encourage early registration, the fee goes up after June 26 to $25. That will be the fee for registration at the door, too. Be sure to include one form per participant.

Need another form? It is available for download as a PDF at mnlegion.org/department-convention.

Registration is available online through Eventbrite by visiting mnlegion.org and selecting “events.” Anyone also can find the links at mnlegion.org/department-convention or mnlegion.org/calendar. Eventbrite will charge a $2.85 fee.

The Department of Minnesota Convention Corp. thanks Auxiliary member Carrie Werner of Redwood Falls Unit 38 for helping with registration. She can answer registration questions. Her email is carriewerner@gmail.com.

Organizers urge members to make lodging reservations as early as possible directly with the hotels. Ask for “The American Legion block.”

The convention program  is under development. More information on schedules, presenters and activities will be out for the next issue of The Minnesota Legionnaire, which arrives in mailboxes around May 22.

This is the first of five years the convention will be hosted at the Willmar Conference Center. A five-year deal struck last year reduces conventions costs.

The convention is where the statewide Legion membership conducts its business and elects new officers.
