National Veteran Wheelchair Games are coming to Minneapolis

MINNEAPOLIS — The National Veterans Wheelchair Games are coming to Minneapolis this summer.
The games are presented by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and the Paralyzed Veterans of American. They are set for July 17-22.
The games are looking for volunteers. To volunteer, visit wheelchairgames.org online and click “volunteer.” No prior experience is required.
If you wish to register as an athlete, click “athlete registration.” Participation is open to veterans living with spinal cord injuries, amputations, multiple sclerosis or other central neurological conditions. Physical disabilities must be permanent, measurable and impact mobility. All veterans registering for the National Veterans Wheelchair Games must be eligible to receive care at a VA medical facility.
The National Veterans Wheelchair Games are the largest adaptive sports and rehabilitation event designed exclusively for U.S. military veterans with disabilities.
Event venues are scheduled to be the Minneapolis Convention Center, Lake Minnetonka Regional Park, Mill City Museum, Lake Harriet, Bowlero Lanes in Brooklyn Park and the Jean K. Freeman Aquatic Center on the University of Minnesota campus.
