Marathon grants $5,000 to foundation
ST. PAUL — The Minnesota American Legion Foundation is a proud recipient of a $5,000 grant from Marathon Petroleum, awarded in December 2025, announced the American Legion Department of Minnesota on Feb. 5.
“This generous grant reflects Marathon Petroleum’s ongoing commitment to supporting veterans and strengthening the communities where it operates,” said Commander Linda Dvorak. “The grant will allow the foundation to expand critical services for veterans and their families in the Twin Cities metro area, including St. Paul Park, Newport, Cottage Grove, Woodbury, South St. Paul, West St. Paul, St. Paul, Inver Grove Heights and Rosemount.”
At a time when many Minnesota veterans are facing challenges such as food insecurity, housing instability and limited access to essential resources, Marathon Petroleum LP’s support is making a meaningful difference, Dvorak said.
“Supporting those who have served our country is an honor and something we deeply value at Marathon,” said Marathon Vice President for Refining Eric Bohnert with the St. Paul Park Refinery. “We are proud to partner with the American Legion to help ensure veterans and their families receive the support and resources they need to thrive.”
Dvorak said the funding will help the Minnesota American Legion Foundation provide assistance that promotes stability, dignity and well-being for those who have proudly served our nation.
“Marathon Petroleum’s investment in local communities demonstrates strong corporate leadership and a deep respect for veterans, ensuring that those who served receive the care and support they deserve,” Dvorak said.
