Letter: Father will turn 100 years old

By Marlon Wilde

My name is Marlon Wilde. I am writing to you in regard to my father, Leonard Wilde. He is a member of Plainview Post 179. He will turn 100 years old on Feb. 4, 2025, and we are planning a lunch reception at the Plainview post on Sunday, Feb. 2, from 1 to 5 p.m.

A little about Leonard: He is an Army veteran of the Korean War, and as of the day of his birthday, he will have been a member of The American Legion for 71 years. I also believe at one time he was part of the post honor guard and served as the gambling committee chairman.

To make his birthday memorable, I am asking your readers to mail birthday cards to Leonard in advance. Please mail them to Plainview American Legion Post 179, 215 Third St. SW, Plainview, MN 55964.

Thank you.
