Let’s grow the ALA’s Junior program this year

By Jean Walker, Junior Activities chairman

The goal of the American Legion Auxiliary Junior Activities program is to develop Junior members age 17 and under into future leaders.

This program will help our Juniors become engaging, productive members who will want to continue their membership into adulthood.

This year I hope to build the Junior Activities program with one member at a time by giving Junior members a voice and an opportunity to participate. It is recommended that Juniors participate in Senior meetings and help out with activities.

Juniors can work with the Seniors and even contribute new ideas and suggestions. This year let us all promote and encourage Junior participation in the Patch Program, Poppy Poster Contest, Junior History, Americanism Essay Contest, and apply for scholarships, which in turn will teach them about the mission of the American Legion Auxiliary.
