Hassing endorsed for Alternate National Executive Committeeman


Paul J. Hassing has been endorsed by Earl C. Hill Post 550 Bloomington for Alternate National Executive Committeeman for the two-year term of 2025-2027.
Hassing has served in the Regular Army 1982-1989, Army Reserve 1994-1997, Army National Guard 2001-2004, Army Reserve 2004-present. He is recently retired as an Active-Duty Army Reserve career counselor.
He served as commander for the Department of Minnesota for the 2023-24 American Legion year. He is a 19-year member of The American Legion at Bloomington and has served two years as post commander and two years as post adjutant.
On the district level, Hassing served as 10th District commander, judge advocate, vice commander. He has held several chairmanships, too.
On the department level, Hassing served as membership director and on the Strategic Planning Committee. He served two years as state director for the American Legion Riders. He is a member of the Bloomington chapter of the Riders.
On the national level, he serves on the Veterans Affairs and Rehabilitation Council and is a 2010 graduate of the National American Legion College. Hassing is a member of ANAVICUS and 40/8 Voiture 481.
Paul and his wife, Dr. Jody Hassing, have five children and eight grandchildren (all members of the Legion Family).
