Gary Richardson backed for department sergeant-at-arms

Gary Richardson

Gary Richardson has been endorsed by his post, Mahtomedi/Willernie Post 507, to run for the office of sergeant-at-arms for the Department of Minnesota for 2025. He has been an American Legion member for 26 continuous years.

The positions he has held in the Legion are as follows:

  • Post 507 sergeant-at-arms, 24 years (current)
  • Post 507 commander, two years
  • Post 507 adjutant, four years (current)
  • Post 507 membership director, 10 years (current)
  • 3rd District commander
  • 3rd District vice commander
  • 3rd District membership director
  • 3rd District sergeant-at-arms, eight-plus years (current)
  • SAL Detachment of Minnesota membership director, two years (current)

He is a retired Air Force tech sergeant. He spent the first half of his career as a radiologic technologist at Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio, and the remainder until retirement as an electro-mechanical tech working on Minuteman III Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles at Minot AFB, N.D.

After retirement, he worked for the BNSF and Wisconsin Central railroads until landing another career and retiring (again) after 20 years with CenturyLink communications.
