Eagan Post 594 leads effort to honor women veterans

Women veterans with Eagan Post 594 gather with shirts showing their branches of service.

EAGAN — A veteran is a veteran, is a veteran!

The Eagan Daniel R. Olsen American Legion Post 594 actively welcomes women veterans to share in all leadership opportunities and activities.

As seen in this photo, Post 594 has numerous active women veterans and others who couldn’t make it to the photo session. They serve in several post officer positions as well as in the Minnesota 3rd District.

In recognizing and honoring women veterans, the City of Eagan in cooperation with Post 594 has initiated a project to add a Women Veterans statue at the Eagan Tribute Plaza. This statue will be prominently placed among the existing soldier, police officer and firefighter statues.

Post 594 is pleased to lead this project to fund, install, and dedicate this statue. It is scheduled to be installed this spring at the annual Eagan Memorial Day Ceremony that is organized by Post 594 and assisted by other Eagan Community civic organizations.

We invite you to support the installation of this statue by making a donation at: www.givemn.org/story/EaganWomenStatue All donations will receive a notice of giving for tax purposes.
