Auxiliary national president is coming to the Fall Conference
ST. CLOUD — The Department of Minnesota Fall Conference will be held at River’s Edge Conference Center in St. Cloud Oct. 24-26. The Department Executive Committee will meet at 11 a.m. Oct. 24.
Besides the annual Poppy Contests and the Auxiliary Emergency Fund Silent Auction, we are excited to announce National President Trish Ward will be speaking at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 24 in the main auditorium of the Convention Center, where the Auxiliary holds their main sessions.
All of the Department of Minnesota American Legion Family are invited to hear Ward’s message. She is an engaging and dynamic speaker, said Executive Secretary Christie Avant.
Department President Judy Ackerman said she is thrilled Minnesota can host Ward, who is expected to be the national president by the time Fall Conference happens. More details will be in the next Legionnaire, posted on mnala.org and Facebook. Registration and hotel information is on page 15.
Ward joined the Auxiliary in 2000, shortly after she moved from Los Angeles to the small town of Louisburg, Kan. As a new small business owner, she wanted to get more involved in her brand-new community.
As the years passed, Trish’s involvement in the ALA grew, and she was able to receive various personal development opportunities through the leadership positions she held. Recently, she was national Children & Youth chairman.
