Brown has two sons, one daughter and two granddaughters: She has a loving boyfriend, John Johnson. Her family has been very supportive about her new adventure, and she couldn’t do it without them.

She’s a country girl at heart, born and raised in McGregor. She has 25-plus years of accounting experience and is looking forward to applying her knowledge to the greater good. She loves to ride her Harley and spend tons of time with her service dog, Harli.

You may even see Harli with Brown from time to time. Don’t be afraid to say hello. Harli and Brown have found an apartment in Plymouth and on the weekends and holidays they will travel to their home up north in Isle to spend time with friends and family.

“I am very excited about this opportunity and couldn’t think of a better way to finish my career than here at the Auxiliary,” she said.

Radil to retire

Longtime Department Treasurer Cathy Radil announced her intention to retire earlier this year. With the hiring of Shannon Brown, Radil will retire Dec. 1.

She has been an asset to the department during her time in the office. She plans to spend time with her family, especially her grandkids. Please, take a moment to thank Radil for all she has done for the Department of Minnesota.
