American Legion National Samsung Scholar is a Minnesota Girls Stater!

From left are Minnesota American Legion Alternate NECman Peggy Moon, Department Commander Carl Moon, Minnesota Girls State Samsung Scholar Jessica Jensen and Auxiliary 2nd Vice President Linda Kelly during the American Legion Washington Conference. There, at the Washington Hilton, Jensen was among 10 scholars who were recognized at a dinner. The 10 Boys and Girls Staters each recieved $10,000 scholarships from the the American Legion’s Committee on Youth Education, which awards Samsung American Legion Scholarships. She is from Anoka and participated in Minnesota Girls State in 2024. The Samsung scholarship supports undergraduate studies (e.g., room and board, tuition and books), and each applicant is selected according to his or her involvement in school and community activities, academic record and financial need.
