MINNEAPOLIS — The American Legion Department of Minnesota’s Veterans Affairs & Rehabilitation staff is asking for volunteers to help with outdoors work at the Fisher House on the campus of the Minneapolis VA.

On Oct. 17, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., the volunteers will mulch, pull weeds, move rocks, trim trees, plant flowers and garden.

The Home Depot Foundation is providing the materials.

“We are hoping to make this an annual clean-up day with Home Depot,” said Department Service Officer Ray Kane.

To volunteer, people can email Kane at dso@mnlegion.org. He hopes to get Legion, Auxiliary, SAL and ALR members.
