ALR Director: Winter is the right time to plan a great summer

February may be one of the shorter months, but the Minnesota American Legion Riders continue to stay active and mission-focused. While winter weather can limit riding opportunities in many areas, it doesn’t slow down our commitment to service, camaraderie and supporting The American Legion’s core programs.

This month is a time to reflect on our shared values of patriotism and community. Riders remain involved in supporting fellow veterans, assisting local Legion events and planning for the upcoming riding season.

Behind the scenes, officers and members are working on ride planning, safety discussions and fundraising ideas that will benefit veterans, active-duty service members and their families.

February also gives us a chance to recognize the importance of Americanism and remember the sacrifices made by those who came before us. Whether it’s participating in Legion meetings, helping at post functions, or simply checking in on a fellow veteran, the Riders continue to represent the Legion with pride and professionalism.

As we look ahead to spring, members are encouraged to stay connected, attend meetings when possible and prepare both their motorcycles and themselves for a safe and successful riding year. New members are always welcome, and we invite eligible American Legion, Sons of the American Legion and Auxiliary members to learn more about the Minnesota American Legion Riders and what we do.

Thank you to all who continue to support the Minnesota American Legion Riders and the mission of The American Legion. Ride safe, stay warm, and we’ll see you on the road soon.

God bless our veterans and their families and remember: “Let’s Be Awesome Today!”
