ALR Director: Where should the Fund 85 Run start and end?
The Sweetheart Rally was at Forest Lake Post 225 and a great time was had by all!
The American Legion Auxiliary did a fantastic job with the “cruising” theme. Spring is coming fast; I can only hope that the lack of snow so far this winter continues, and we have an early spring. I know most riders can’t wait to get their bike out on the roads.
We are beginning to plan the Fund 85 Run for July 25-28 with the kickoff party on July 24. This year the run will be around southern Minnesota. If your Post Legion Family is interested in hosting the Riders this year, please contact me or Minnesota American Legion Riders Ride Captain Ted Berg. We are seeking a place for the kickoff party and the ending party.
Contact information for all MNALR officers is found at mnalr.org.
Please note, National HQ is no longer accepting donations to the Legacy Scholarship Fund. I know that many of you have it in your budget to donate to the Fund 84 (the Legacy Scholarship fund), if we receive a check made out to Fund 84 those monies will be applied to the new National Riders Mission — the Veterans & Children Fund. This also is the National Commander’s Project.
I know there are many other chapter runs and fundraisers happening across the state and throughout the year. Please invite me to your events so I can see all the good things you are doing!
If you would like help setting up a chapter at your post, please let me or your district American Legion Riders representative know so we can help you get things going. If you are interested in having me talk to your chapter or district about the reason for writing a constitution and a set of bylaws, please contact me.
God bless, and keep the rubber side down.
Jody Hassing of Bloomington Unit 550 is the director of the Minnesota American Legion Riders.
