ALR Director: Get your motor running, head out on the highway

Hello, Legion Family!
Happy spring! I have seen so many bikes out already this spring. I am looking forward to getting mine out soon.
It has been a very busy spring for our family. I had the chance to attend the Anoka Legion Birthday party. It was a great time! Thank you, Anoka American Legion Family. I was also honored to be invited to Moorhead Post 21 to talk about Legionville and all the great activities that take place there.
The Moorhead American Legion Riders had a pancake breakfast and silent auction to raise funds to send kids to Legionville Safety Summer Camp this summer. Along with the Moorhead Legion Family, they raised enough funds to send 13 kids to camp! Awesome job!
Minnesota ALR Road Captain Ted Berg has been working with Steve Hoopman to plan the Fund 85 Run, which will be in northern Minnesota this year. We will start with a kickoff party on July 23 at Forest Lake Post 225 and will end on Saturday, July 26, at Paynesville Post 271.
Information for the Fund 85 Run will be posted on the Fund 85 Facebook page and on our website – www.mnalr.org. Watch Facebook and the website for upcoming information/meeting about the run.
If your Post Legion Family is interested in hosting the Riders this year, please contact me or the MNALR Ride Captain, Ted Berg (contact information on the mnalr.org website).
The Minnesota National Legacy/Mission Ride will take place on Aug. 16 and will be hosted by the Walker American Legion Riders.
American Legion Riders, please remember you will receive a consolidated chapter report form from our secretary, Shawn Davis. Please complete the consolidated chapter report and return it to Davis ([email protected]) as soon as possible, so we can report all the wonderful things that our chapters are doing in Minnesota.
If you would like assistance setting up a chapter at your post, please let me or your district Riders representative know so we can help you get things going. If you are interested in having me talk to your chapter or district please contact me.
God bless and keep the rubber side down.
Jody Hassing of Bloomington Unit 550 is the director of the Minnesota American Legion Riders.
