Mail Call: Commander’s piece was great

I would like to commend and express my appreciation for Commander Pam Krill’s column, “You Matter.” It is one of the most inspiring messages I have ever read in the Legionnaire.

She says it all in two words: “’You Matter’ applies to Legion Family” in the September Legionnaire. Her emphasis on listening, respectful conversation, and extending grace is a powerful message for everyone and a story worth hearing.

Her reminder that every veteran and family member matters, regardless of membership status or differing opinions captures the true spirit of service and connection. Membership quotas are important to the American Legion but remember, focusing on individual stories and asking them to belong is exactly the perspective needed today.

Thank you, Commander Krill, for reminding us of what truly lies at the center of everything we do.
