1st District Commander’s Report

It’s another beautiful, frigid Minnesota Legion Family morning as I write this.
I want to extend my condolences to the families affected by the recent situations in the Twin Cities. It was a sad day for all Minnesota residents.
This Saturday, an old tradition renews as the 1st and 3rd districts get together in Faribault for training and comradeship. It has been a few years since we held a joint meeting, and I hope it reignites this type of meeting happening every year. It should be a fun time — and a good exchange of ideas should be had.
Membership. We are pursuing the 6th District and are in second place as of this moment, but now comes the hard times — getting the last few tough to get members to pay their dues. We all need to get out and talk to our unpaid members. And look for new ones.
My grandson will join once he makes the eligibility requirements as he is going into the Marines as of March 3rd this year. This proud grandpa will pay his dues to get him started.
Make sure you get out and check on our members especially during this frigid weather.
