9th District Commander’s Report

We just got done with Halloween, and now it is on to November. I hope that all posts and communities did something special for Veterans Day. I know that there are several restaurants that offered free dinners for all veterans.

In our little town, the high school puts on a special program and provides a lunch afterward. This is followed by a program at the elementary school in the afternoon. I want to thank all the veterans who put on a uniform to protect our country. Please remember, women ARE veterans!

Then it is on to Thanksgiving, and we have so much to be thankful for.

Ninth District President Denise Milton and I have had a lot of fun traveling around the district. Our district project is joint. We are wanting to raise $7,000 for new flooring in the dorms at Legionville. I ask the posts, units and squadrons in the Roaring 9th to help in any way that you can.

Since there is no Legionnaire in December, Denise and I would like to wish each and every one of you a very merry Christmas and a joyous and happy New Year! And to our Jewish friends, a happy Hanukkah.
