Greetings from the Fighting First!

I hadn’t been at the Fall Conference in 12 years. It was great to touch bases with old friends and make new ones.

The classes were informative and very timely. I definitely learned a lot.

Veterans Day is behind us. I got to give out a membership certificate to an 80-year American Legion member. He is the last surviving World War II member of my home post, Le Roy Post 161, at our annual Veterans Day program. What a high honor to bestow on a member who has seen this organization evolve from when he joined until now.

Take some time on any Veterans Day to spend with your veteran. Go to a Veterans Day program. Go out to the cemetery to visit your veteran family member who has left us. Take a living veteran out for a meal. Make the day special.
