3rd District Commander’s Report

Hello, my fellow Legionnaires, this past month, I got to attend the NSFR weekend at Camp Ripley and the Open House there. It gave me a chance to meet with my fellow district commanders and talk to many individuals and families about The American Legion. This event is great way to learn what is going on with all the districts.

In the coming months I am excited to announce the dates of the dental clinics. They are Oct, 21 and 28 and Nov. 4 in Rochester. The Mankato clinic is Nov. 13. Along with dental care, there will be medical professionals there and other organization to answer questions. I want to thank Past President Tamara Thayer for her continued help as she started this endeavor last year as her project.

If any posts or individuals would like to donate to this project, please reach out to me at 612-306-4438.

I question sometimes, if any of the time I spend for American Legion makes a difference. Then I’m at some event or receive a call from someone that is thankful for the organization and what it has done for them or their family.

I am reminded again that I am continuing my service through The American Legion and continuing my promise that I started making in first grade “to serve God and My country.” I hope to be able to continue that promise until my last breath.

Being part of an organization that allows people with different opinions and backgrounds to come together to help veterans and their families is such an amazing thing.

I’m proud to be serving as your 3rd District commander.
