LONSDALE — Third District Commander Amy Larsen is asking veterans to sign up for one of five free dental clinics.

This is their joint project for the Legion year.

Call 507-280-3169 for care from Rochester Community & Technical College on Oct. 21, 28 or Nov. 4.

Call 952-898-9318 for care from Mission Outpost in Burnsville on Oct. 17.

Call 507-389-2147 for care from Minnesota State University, Mankato, on Nov. 13.

These are for cleanings and to look for restorative needs. Veterans needing restorative care will be able to follow up with county veteran service officers to fill out grant applications.

Larsen is asking for gambling donations to pay for the project. The checks must be made out to the clinics listed above. However, she wants them mailed to her, so she can match up the payment to the names of veterans receiving care.

Any remaining funds will be put toward restorative needs. Restorative means care beyond a typical cleaning, such as fillings, crowns, dentures, bridges, root canals.

“We are bringing smiles back to veterans,” Larsen said.
