Saturday, Aug. 2, began with a high-scoring game as Fridley Gold ended St. Michael’s season 11-8. Winning pitcher Tommy Heifort went 6 1/3 innings and helped his cause with a home run. Tyler Hand did his part with a two-for-four performance that included two runs scored and two RBIs. Jake Rantz scored three times for Fridley Gold. Grady Johnson and Lawson Ness each had two hits for the Mikes, who finished the 2025 season 17-9-1 overall.

East Grand Forks used five runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to pull away from Osseo 6-0 in a game Saturday, Aug. 2. Carson McDonald improved to 5-2 for the season by pitching a complete game. Rylee Harris led East Grand Forks with two hits. Quincy Standal and Tyler Weum had the only two hits for Osseo.

Alexandria took an early lead in its 10 a.m. game against Shakopee Saturday, Aug. 2, but then Shakopee put a 7 spot on the scoreboard in the bottom of the fourth on the way to a 9-4 victory. Alexandria had the edge in hits 9-8, however, Shakopee’s slugging percentage was off the charts. Ryder Peace hit a 400-foot grand-slam homer in the fourth and then Nick Johnson followed with a 364-foot triple off the wall in right-center field. Griffin Wimmer and Nolan Johnson each had two hits for Alexandria, which ended the season with a 28-10 record.

New Ulm Gold made five errors in its first game of the day against Grand Rapids Aug. 2, but more than made up for the miscues with a 14-hit attack. Six runs in the third inning put New Ulm Gold ahead to stay. All nine New Ulm starting players had at least one hit. Colin Anderson had three and Logan Mielke, Zach Hubbard and Caleb Forstner each had two. Ethan Morgan and Alex Wegwerth each had two hits for Grand Rapids.

WINNING PITCHER MORGAN, LOSING PITCHER HUBBARD
The rematch between New Ulm Gold and Grand Rapids was vastly different than the first game with the pitchers dueling throughout. Ethan Morgan threw a three-hit shutout for Grand Rapids to send his team to the final four Aug. 3. Zach Hubbard countered with a well-pitched game for New Ulm Gold. Sam Dick went two-for-three with an RBI to lead Grand Rapids’ offense. Cahse Sgarlata also had two hits in three at bats for the winners. New Ulm Gold had base hits from Hubbard, Logan Mielke and Jake Finstad. New Ulm Gold finished the season 17-14.
