2nd District Commander’s December 2024 Report

Greetings, 2nd District!

I hope everyone had a fantastic Thanksgiving, and I would like to wish all of the Department of Minnesota a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

With the holidays here, please remember to reach out to your buddies and check up on them. This time of year can be difficult for people and they may slip into, or further into, a state of loneliness or depression. A phone call or a visit can go a long way to lifting the spirits of someone who is feeling lonely or depressed during this time of year.

The 2nd District is doing well with membership. We met the 75 percent target date early. The 80 percent target date is Jan. 15. There is no reason why we can’t make that goal or hit 90 percent of goal by the end of January. If you have not reached out to those Legionnaires who have not renewed, please do so as soon as possible. Remind them of the reason we are all Legionnaires. Remind them of being a Legionnaire and that we, as an organization, can do more with them than without them in our ranks.

Mid-Winter is coming up on Feb. 15 at Nels Lee Post 165 in Bricelyn. Get registered as soon as possible. It’s shaping up to be a great day of information, education and training!
