Let’s get lots of Riders to the Pearl Harbor Rally
Hello!
With fall upon us, many of us Riders are hoping for a couple of more rides before we have to put our bikes away for the winter. The warm weather is holding on for a bit longer, so I hope you are all getting your wish for a couple of nice fall rides.
During the American Legion Department of Minnesota Executive Committee meeting at Fall Conference in St. Cloud, the Constitution and Bylaws for the American Legion Riders was ratified!
This document includes a Preamble consistent with the rest of the Legion Family. Also, as I shared in my last article, the Constitution and Bylaws excludes the use of a bottom rocker/bar/ribbon from wear on any Minnesota American Legion Rider vest.
This was discussed by all in attendance at both the Riders Convention in July and the Riders meeting at the Romp in September. The district representatives voted to approve the Constitution and Bylaws before it was forwarded to the American Legion DEC for approval. Riders Secretary Shawn Davis will send the approved copy by email to all the Riders for whom we have contacts.
Please contact Davis (secretary@mnalr.org) if you would like a copy and you have not received one.
The Pearl Harbor Rally is on Dec. 7 at Spicer American Legion Post 545. This is a Legion Family gathering that is hosted by the American Legion Riders. Social hour will be at 11 a.m., lunch at noon, with a program to follow. I am looking forward to seeing many of our Legion Riders there as well as the rest of the Legion Family! What plans does your chapter have to keep active during the winter? I know there are many chapter runs and fundraisers happening across the state and throughout the year. Please invite me to your events so I can see all the good things you are doing!
God bless and keep the rubber side down.
Jody Hassing of Bloomington Unit 550 is the director of the Minnesota American Legion Riders.
