2nd District Commander’s October 2024 Report

Greetings, 2nd District!

The National Convention is behind us. Congratulations to new National Commander James LaCoursiere Jr. from Connecticut and to National Vice Commander Jim Kellogg and to all of the other national officers on your elections. I look forward to the upcoming year!

The 2nd District Auxiliary is hosting a 2nd District membership rally on Oct. 19 at Okabena Post 608. There will be some training and information available that day. More information to follow in the next district newsletter.

Fall Conference is coming up in October in St. Cloud. It looks like there are going to be some fantastic opportunities for Legionnaires to get great training and information. I hope to see many Legionnaires from the 2nd District there!

My project for this year is the flagpole renovation at the Luverne Veterans Home. The flagpoles currently at the home were installed 30 years as the project of the 2nd District commander and president.

At this time, the poles need to be replaced, and there will be some renovations and revamping of the area in front of the home that will make the area more accessible and more enjoyable for the veterans who are living at the home. More details can be found in the 2nd District newsletter.

Keep on pushing to get those memberships in.
