Director: Bottom rockers must be removed from vests

By Jody Hassing

Hello, Legion Family!

It was fun to see everyone at Camporee and the Romp the first two weekends of September! I hope to see many of you at the Harvest Rally at Fridley Post 303 on Sept. 21.

On Dec. 7, the Riders will host the Pearl Harbor Rally at Spicer Post 545. Please plan to attend!

During the Romp, the representatives and all present reviewed the revised Constitution and Bylaws.  The district representatives voted to approve the Constitution and Bylaws after adding a clause that no lower rockers, bars or ribbons will be allowed. This approved Constitution and Bylaws has been sent to the leadership of The American Legion and will be presented for approval to The American Legion DEC as soon as possible.

I want to reiterate, all chapters/individuals with the lower rocker should now remove it. Riders who do not remove the lower rocker will not be allowed to ride on either of the state rides going forward. Thank you to those of you who have already removed the bottom rocker.

If you would like assistance setting up a chapter at your post, please let me or your district Riders representative know so we can help you get things going. If you are interested in having me talk to your chapter or district or attend one of your meetings or events, please contact me at jodyhassing@gmail.com I would love to see what you are all doing.

God bless and keep the rubber side down.

Jody Hassing of Bloomington Unit 550 is the director of the Minnesota American Legion Riders.
