7th District commander’s August 2024 report

By Carl Wilson

First off, I would like to introduce myself. I am Carl Wilson from Argonne Forest Post 278 in Brandon.

This is my first time being a district commander, so hopefully I don’t mess it up too bad. My Commander’s Project is Soldier 6, a great organization that trains K-9’s to be battle buddies to help veterans, law enforcement, first responder and correctional officers, throughout Minnesota to help guide them through difficult times. I am hoping to raise $10,000 for this project.

My theme for the year is, “Service to Veterans from the Past To the Future.”

District 7 will also be working to hold two revitalizations this year in hopes of increasing our numbers in the district and letting veterans in the district who are not Legion members see what the Legion has to offer them.

I will support Department Commander Dr. Carl Moon with his three objectives of “Accountability, Communication and Transparency.” It is my belief that communication is key to running a great district, so if I make some mistakes along the way please reach out to me and let me know.

A  different way  is not always  the wrong way. The old way of doing things is not necessarily the best way. We need to progress and sometimes that means making changes to the way we do things.

Thank you for all you do!
