9th District Commander’s Report

As we start this new year, the 9th District held its annual Mid-Winter Conference. The event has hosted by the Roseau American Legion Family, and they did a great job! While the Auxiliary had a great turnout, the Legion Mid-Winter attendance was dismal.

If it would not have been for the Roseau post members, we would not have had many in attendance. Most of the committee chairs were not there. I plan to discuss the discontinuance of the Mid-Winter.

While the posts in the 9th District are doing great with the programs of The American Legion, the district is truly struggling. We do not have a candidate for district commander for 2026-27 and we cannot find a replacement for a district vice commander that resigned.

Our longtime district adjutant had heart surgery, and I am not sure that he will be returning.

I don’t mean to be negative, but it is the truth. I suppose I am a truth-minded-kind-of guy.
