9th District Commander’s Report

Greetings from the 9th District! I am writing this in Tampa. This is going to be a short article from me this month as I need to get over to the convention center for day three of the 106th National Convention.

Today, we will elect Dan Wiley of Kansas as our next national commander of The American Legion. Dan is a great man, and I know that he will do a fantastic job.

This convention was bittersweet for me as it will be my last one. My first national convention was in 1986, and I have only missed two since then. I have met many great friends over the years from so many departments, and it is hard to say goodbye.
