9th District Commander’s November 2024 Report
Hello, Roaring 9th District American Legion Family!
Welcome to October 2024, which comes with fall right around the corner. With that in mind, let’s remember to stay on top of our membership goals. Let’s keep things moving in the right direction as we move into the fall and winter months.
In addition, this is a good time for planning future fall and winter events for successful fundraising opportunities. Remember, teamwork is still your best key to moving forward into the future, and success.
Let’s continue to be mindful of our members who are homebound or in assisted-living facilities and remember our Buddy Checks. Remember our Mid-Winter will be held at our Warren post on Jan. 11, 2025, so if you are traveling a long distance, please plan ahead for lodging.
As always, please be safe during your travels. Please visit our 9th District Facebook page or our 9th District newsletter for updates.
Just a note: Last year, as your district commander, my project was to raise money for our Fergus Falls Veterans Home. However, this year, I am raising money, not only for the veterans home but our Honor Flight as well.
Since I had to endure two spinal surgeries this year, my travels will be a bit limited, and I apologize for any inconvenience. Therefore, I am asking each post, who wishes to donate to my Commander’s Projects, to present it to me at our district mid-winter conference or our district convention.
Otherwise, you may mail it to me directly to my home. As you may know, spinal surgeries are very hard to recover from quickly, and it takes time for your nerves to heal. However, I do plan on making post visits throughout out district as much as I am able. I appreciate everyone’s understanding.
A special thank you to all of you that kept my wife and I in your prayers during and after my surgeries. We truly appreciate all the calls, and text messages. God bless you all!
