Hello, Roaring 9th District American Legion Family!

I would like to start with a big congratulations to our 9th District posts that have reached or exceeded their 100 percent membership goal. Excellent job!

We still have a lot of work to do, so keep up the great work. We still have some posts out there that have not yet reached the 95 percent mark, so please continue to reach out to your post members to renew their memberships.

In addition, everyone has been sent their 1982 lists, so let’s reach out and let them know why it’s a great idea to be assigned to your post. This is a slow time of the year for membership, so if your post needs assistance with your revitalization efforts, both the district and department are here to help. Please don’t hesitate to contact us for help. This is a team effort.

I would like to take this opportunity to Congratulate Jeremy Clovning as our 9th District Vice Commander of the Year.  This is the second time Clovning has won this prestigious award, and the 9th District is very grateful to have a hard-working volunteer like yourself. Excellent job, Jeremy!

Remember, our 9th District Convention is scheduled for June 7, at East Grand Forks Post 157, so please visit our 9th District Facebook page or our 9th District newsletter for updates.

In the past, the District Convention numbers have been decreasing. I would like to see this change this year. There is a lot of shared information, and updates at our conventions, so please show your support by attending these events.

After all, our conventions are for all our posts in our district, not just a few. Come and show your support!

As always, please continue to be mindful of our members who are homebound or in assisted living facilities and remember our buddy checks.

 Respectfully in your service.
