Hello, Roaring 9th American Legion Family!

As the 2023 calendar year comes to an end, our membership goals continue to improve as we move forward into 2024.

Our membership numbers for our district are still meeting or exceeding our Legion goals.  However, some of our posts are still struggling.  Therefore, I am asking each of you for your assistance. Again, if your post is doing well, and you know of another post, close to your own, that  is struggling, please reach out to them and render your expertise in helping the struggling post succeed.

Though we have a great 9th District team, it is sometimes difficult for us to be in more than one place at a time, so your assistance is very welcome.

Please continue your buddy checks to ensure our homebound, and elderly veterans are safe and warm during the upcoming winter.

According to the Farmer’s Almanac, it’s going to be a fridged winter. We leave no one behind! Remember to be safe during your holiday travels and please plan ahead. Please remember to mark your calendars for our upcoming MyLegion.org training scheduled for Dec. 16, at Moorhead Post 21 at 10 a.m. Please arrive early, so we may get started on time.

Department Membership Director Pam Krill, a fantastic Legionnaire, will host the training.

Dates to remember:

• District Executive Committee at 7 p.m. Jan. 19 at Detroit Lakes Post 15.

• District Mid-Winter Conference at 9 a.m. Jan. 20 at Detroit Lakes Post 15.

• District Executive Committee at 5 p.m. June 7 at East Grand Forks Post 157.

• District Convention at 9 a.m. June 8 at East Grand Forks Post 157.

Again, I would like to see at least one representative from each post in the 9th District to attend. Have a wonderful holiday season and please continue to keep up the great work.
