Hello, 8th District Legion Family!

Thank you to the posts that have invited me to visit and share ideas with them. They have been informative and insightful to me. To those who I haven’t visited, I’m more than willing to if you want. Reach out to me, and I will work on getting there. The district officers are here to help you if you need us. All you need to do is let us know.

The Legionville committee met in October. The financial situation could be a lot better. Each of the districts was tasked with donating $5,000 throughout their district.  As many of you know, supporting Legionville was one of my projects for the year. We are partway to the goal.

If your post hasn’t donated for this project yet, I ask that you donate what you can. Thank you for the support you have given so far.

The Department Fall Conference was held in St. Cloud Oct. 23-25. The training and presentations were excellent sources of information. I strongly urge you to attend these in the future. Emphasis has been placed on continuing and improving our overall membership. Retention has been getting low, and membership needs to increase.

Please reach out to your members who haven’t renewed their membership yet. Do buddy checks with your area veterans to make sure they are doing alright. All it may take is reaching out to them. There are several posts that are upside down as far as dues are concerned. Check to make sure that you aren’t losing too much by keeping your dues where they are.

Our District Mid-Winter Conference is scheduled for Jan. 24, 2026, at Vets on the Lake near Ely. The District Executive Committee (e-board) meets at 10 a.m. The joint meeting is at 11 a.m., with lunch around noon. It would be great to see as many of you as possible.
