8th District Commander’s March-April 2025 Report

From the Lakes & Pines Eighth District, greetings to all Legion members!
I’m helping out Commander Philip Bodle by writing this article for this issue.
Hopefully we’re out of the cooler weather for this season. Spring is close at hand and our Legion posts are gearing up for the spring and summer activities and programs!
A huge thank-you to West Duluth Post 71 for doing a great job on hosting the 8th District Mid-Winter on Saturday, Jan. 25.

There are many uncertainties going on in Washington, D.C., and all veterans should be concerned about any potential and possible cutbacks at the Department of Veterans Affairs!

Do buddy checks! Even a two-minute phone call once a month will let another Legion member know that someone is thinking about them. For many of our older members who don’t have the means or ability to get out much in the winter they can use a call!
As per Our Legion Preamble states: “To uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America! To foster and perpetuate a one hundred percent Americanism!”
