8th District Commander’s June 2025 report

Hello to the 8th!

I hope everyone had the opportunity to reflect on this past Memorial Day. We need to take time to remember and pay our respects to those who have passed. I imagine that our convention will be over by the time you read this, but I want to thank Taconite Post 301 for hosting the event and also thank the Lawrence Lake Auxiliary Unit 476 for the meals. I am sure it was enjoyed by all.

I hope that all our posts will step up and support all of the new district officers for the 2025-26 year.  We can only “be all we can be” if we make the effort to work hard to support our goals.

I would like to point out something I read the other day, and I paraphrase: “This is my district. It is composed of people just like me. It will be friendly if I am. It will do great work if I work. It will make generous gifts to many causes if I am generous. It will bring others into our membership if I bring them. It will be a district of loyalty and service. I dedicate myself to the task of being all the things I want our district to be.”

May God bless the American Legion Family.
