7th District Commander’s Report

Well, just when we thought winter was over, we can’t have the state basketball tournament without a snowstorm. Hopefully we’ve seen the last of the big snow anyway.
I have been doing some traveling both for personal and Legion activities. I attended our 7th District Oratorical Contest and was very impressed with the young participants, and I’m pleased to announce that one of them went on and achieved fourth place at the state level.
I believe Boys and Girls State is coming up very soon. Hope we get a good turnout for that as well.
I will be traveling to a few posts to deliver some appreciation certificates that were presented at our rally just a few days ago. On that same note, though we recognized the top performers with certificates and awards, it is everyone in the organization that allows the Legion to continue to be the best and biggest veterans organization in the nation.
Thanks to each and every one of you for your hard work and dedication to The American Legion. As always, my district officers and I are always available with any questions to help you in your way. Feel free to reach out to us or me personally at any time.
The 7th District Convention is May 30 at New London Post 537.
