7th District Commander’s December 2024 Report
Happy Holidays from the 7th District:
I’m sorry I missed the last issue of the Legionnaire; it has been a very busy couple of months.
In September I attended the Joint Americanism Conference in Indianapolis on Sept. 27-28. I learned a lot of great information in my quest to bring a Junior Shooting Sports program to the 7th District.
In October I attended a fun shoot for American Legion Junior Shooting program where I took first place, by 1 point. I then attended the Department Fall Conference in St. Cloud where I was able to meet with several members from the 7th District and of course other districts.
In November I attended the first of many mission trainings put on by the National HQ in Denver. I learned about different subject matters to enhance leadership qualities in the Legion. December doesn’t look like it will be any slower. I went down to the Olivia Post 186 to set up the District Mid-Winter scheduled for Jan. 18. I hope to see many of you there. Registration for it will be in the district newsletter coming out soon.
I am hoping to have a couple seminars at Mid-Winter but have not decided what they will be on yet. I would like to take this opportunity to let everyone know that there is an NRA Level 1 coaching class being offered at the Anoka American Legion on Dec. 28-29. To attend this class please contact Minnesota Centershots at mncentershots10.9@gmail.com.
Thank you for all you do for our veterans and have a safe holiday season.
